SY-01

License terms

Last updated October 29, 2026

These terms cover your use of SY-01, the video synthesizer made by fluhd. Buying SY-01 means you agree to them. They're written to be read, so here's the short version first: it's yours to use and enjoy, what you make with it is yours, and please don't share your license.

Your license

When you buy SY-01 you get a personal license to install and use it on up to 2 computers that you own or use. The license is for one person, it doesn't expire, and you can move it to a new computer when you replace one.

What you make is yours

Everything you create with SY-01, including recordings, visuals, and performances, belongs to you. You can use it however you like, including commercially, without crediting SY-01 or fluhd.

What you can't do

Updates

Updates to SY-01 are included at no extra cost for as long as SY-01 is offered. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

Buying and refunds

Purchases are handled by Polar, which acts as the seller of record and takes care of payment, receipts, and taxes. Its terms also apply to your purchase. Sales are final, except as described in the refund policy.

Health and safety

Photosensitivity warning. SY-01 makes flashing, fast-changing, and high-contrast patterns. A small number of people may have seizures when they see flashing lights or patterns, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or anyone watching feels dizzy, has blurred vision or twitching, or loses awareness, stop right away and see a doctor. When you show SY-01 to an audience, such as on a projector at a show, keeping them safe is up to you.

No warranty

SY-01 is made with care, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, fluhd isn't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using it, and fluhd's total liability is limited to what you paid for your license.

If the terms are broken

If these terms are broken, the license can be ended, and SY-01 must then be removed from your computers.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version that applies is the one shown here, with its date at the top.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
